Today’s world is changing and it is moving towards the high performance. In this way, they want to become an effective organisation, so that management can provide the high degree of job satisfaction to the employees under different situations. Hence, organisational citizenship behaviour therefore can play an important role to accomplish these different goals in this context (Mi et al. 2019). However this study will focus on whether providing the employees with paid charity days can enhance the citizenship behaviour of the organisation or not. In this regard it can be stated that before analysing the paid charity days to the employees can strengthen the organisational citizenship behaviour or not, it is necessary to discuss about the concept of organisational citizenship behaviour. Organisational citizenship behaviour depicts the process through which the individuals or person show their voluntary commitment as well as responsibilities within the organisation or company which is not the part of their contractual tasks (Grego-Planer, 2019). Organisational citizenship behaviour or better known as OCB is the part of the industrial as well as organisational psychology and it has been explored by the researchers since late 1970s in this context. Thus, it can be stated that, this is the process where the individuals or people perform or do tasks which go beyond the assigned tasks, most often for the benefits of the organisations. This kind of behaviour can be motivated by the personal aspirations under different situations.

Based on the above discussion, it can be stated that, nowadays most of the organisations are giving their focus on the charitable work across the world (Chang et al. 2019). As according to them, by giving importance on the charitable or social work can enhance the organisational visibility and citizenship properly. This is essential for any organisations to get their global recognition in this context. With several political as well as economical incidents, like BREXIT, Covid-19 as well as environmental crisis, most of the stakeholders throughout the society has faced several social injustice. This is therefore the responsibility of the organisations to solve these modern challenges as well as issues they create (Potipiroon & Faerman, 2020). Now in accordance with this discussion, it can be stated that, the organisations can give several opportunities to their employees to meet the organisational goals by performing some charity work and those charity days should be considered as the paid leave in this context. Based on this process, the organisations can enhance their social responsibility. But at the same time, it can be found out that time off for volunteering work can be something that most of the employees look favourably on, but still there are several companies which are too slow to offer the time for their altruistic activities as the part of the paid benefit packages for the employees (Arumi, Aldrin & Murti, 2019). Thus it can be stated that by giving some benefits of paid charity days can enhance the organisational citizenship behaviour but the organisations should focus on more on this and motivate employees to perform that for accomplishing their strategic objectives.
